Jacob deGrom DET
Improved on an already dominant season last year to throw 238.2 innings of 3.09 ERA ball this time. He had 250 Ks for the Wild Card bound Tigers. He now has 47 wins in three years in Detroit, sporting a 6.7 WAR this year.
Nick Anderson MIN
Anderson makes this list after his absurd 4.2 WAR as a RP. In 67 innings, he managed to strike out 152 batters against only 12 walks. He may not win this award after another poor showing from the Twins, but his 20.4 K/9 to go with that WAR demanded he make this list.
Charlie Morton KC
He managed to defy the odds with a 31 -start season, so the results followed. Between OAK and KC, Morton managed a league leading 2.27 ERA to go with 18 wins over 178.2 innings. Not only did he stay healthy and win games, but he also had a 0.96 WHIP and a league best 0.5 HR/9.

Walker Buehler NYY
In 198 innings, Buehler proved to be the ace the Yankees needed. He had 234 Ks and a 2.77 ERA, proving with his 1.03 WHIP that he is a true frontline starter. He only had 13 wins, but that was more of a product of the defense behind him.
Noah Syndergaard CLE
The league leader with 21 wins, Thor put up a career best 222.1 innings over 32 starts. 220 strikeouts and a 1.07 WHIP shows why he will be stepping in for Scherzer for this upcoming playoff run. The HR ball was a bit of an issue for the first time in his career, but still limiting batters to a lowly 1.1 HR/9 during the teams 106-win season.
