Caleb Ferguson NYY
Led AL rookie hurlers with 13 Wins and a 3.2 WAR. He managed that in only 135 innings, and finished with 147 Ks. He was a major piece for a NYY squad that made a huge second half push.
Dereck Rodriguez KC
While his ERA of 4.76 was less than steady but the 162 innings he provided was valuable to his team. His 1.9 WAR was 3rd among rookie pitchers.
Danny Jansen CLE
He only saw 146 at bats for the Indians this year but managed a 1.4 WAR. He wasn’t the best behind the plate but finished with a .295/.368/.466 slash line and did more than enough to help his team make the playoffs.
Shane Bieber NYY
He threw 187 innings on a playoff team, managed a 2.6 WAR and 105 ERA+. This is just the tip of the iceberg as Beiber is set up to make a big leap in year two following a strong season IRL.
Garrett Hampson NYY
Yet another Yankee to make this list, as we can all see how bright their future is. He had a 3 WAR after hitting .302 all while playing five different positions. He may regress next year but this is a strong introduction for a key piece of the Yankees future.
Victor Robles BOS
Boston had a down year but Robles was the best of them. He played a great defensive CF and posted a strong .259/.347/.386 slash line. He is still developing with the stick but you can’t replace his production as shown by his rookie leading 3.3 WAR.
Joey Wendle LAA
601 at bats in your rookie year is an accomplishment in itself, but Wendle actually hit pretty well in those opportunities. He led all AL rookies with a .269 AVG leading to a strong 2.1 WAR. He wasn’t great in the field but contributed to yet another playoff appearance for his squad.
