1. Luis Robert Colorado Rockies Luis was signed as an international free agent out of Cuba in May of 2017. He battled injuries in 2018 before starting 2019 in High A where he batted 453 and homered 8 times in 19 games. He was then promoted to AA where in 56 games he homered 8 times and batted 314. He was then promoted to AAA where in 47 games he homered 16 times and batted 297. He also combined to steal 36 bases. He has already signed a 6 year $50 M contract before playing in the majors. He joins Taylor Trammel and Clint Frazier as the top OF prospects in the Rockies system.
2. Jo Adell St. Louis Cardinals Jo was drafted 10th overall in the 2017 out of high school by the Los Angeles Angels. At the age of 20 he played at three minor league levels, finishing the year in AAA. He combined to 289 with a 359 on base percentage. He did strike out 305 times in 94 games. He is considered capable of playing all 3 outfield positions. He joins Corey Ray, Drew Waters and Estevan Florial as the top OF prospects in the Cardinals system.
3. Jarred Kelenic Toronto Blue Jays As a Mets fan for 55 years I went on record the day it happened that I was against this trade. Jarred was drafted 6th overall in the 2016 draft and batted 413 in the rookie leagues prior to being promoted to short season ball. Starting the year as a 19 year old, he played at Low A, High a and AA combining for 23 home runs while batting 291 with an on base percentage of 364. It is believed he can stay in CF as a power hitter. He joins Yusniel Diaz as the top OF prospect in the Blue Jays syatem.
4. Christian Pache Atlanta Braves Signed as an international free agent in 2015 by the Atlanta Braves, Christian has steadily rose through the Atlanta Braves system, playing the majority of 2019 in AA as a 20 year old. He batted 278 with home runs 11 and a 340 on base percentage. He finished the year playing 27 games in AAA. He plays gold glove caliber defense in CF. He joins some dude named Ronald Acuna in the Braves minor league system.system
5. Dylan Carlson Milwaukee Brewers Dylan was drafted 33rd overall in the 2016 draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. Dylan played all of 2019 as a 20 year old breaking out in AA with a 21 home run 281 batting average and a 364 on base percentage before spending the last 18 games in AAA. He homered 5 times and batted 361. An athletic switch hitter it is believed he can stay in CF but may be moved to a corner spot. He joins Connor Scott and George Valera as the top OF prospects in the system.
6. Julio Rodriguez Chicago White Sox One of the top international free agents in the 2017 class, Julio signed with the Seattle Mariners. As a 17 year old he started the season in Low A but suffered a broken hand in April. Once he returned, he spent the majority of the season in Low A but ended the year in High A, combining for 12 home runs in 84 games while batting 326. Already 604 and 225 pounds, a move to a corner OF spot seems inevitable but he could be a power hitting high average hitter. He joins Everson Periera as teh two top OF prospects in the Whte Sox system.
7. Drew Waters St. Louis Cardinals The second Cardinal on this list, Drew was draft 41st overall in the 2017 draft by the Atlanta Braves. This year at the age of 20 he won the Southern League batting title and MVP. He finished the year with 107 AAA at bats. While he only homered 7 times he combined for 49 2B's and 3B's. He has plus speed with the only concern being he struck out 164 times in 527 at bats. While it is believed he can play Cf he played in the same OF as Christian Pache.
8. J J Bleday available J J was drafted 4th overall disappointing all the Tiger fans stationed in Lakeland ( me and the two guys that sit in front of me) as the Tigers had the 5th overall selection. J J starred for baseball powerhouse Vanderbilt leading them to the National Championship this year. Once he signed he proceeded directly to High A where he 257 in 38 games.
9. Riley Greene available Riley was drafted 5th overall (yes, 1 slot behind J J Bleday) much to the dismay of this same three Tiger fans in Lakeland who wanted someone who could make a major league impact sooner. Riley proceeded to bat 351 in 9 Gulf Coast games getting promoted to Short Season. There he batted 295 in 24 games. The Tigers in their infinite wisdom (sarcasm) promoted him to Low A where he batted an expected 219 in 24 games. He played CF at all three levels but is already 603 and 200 pounds and he has a body made for RF.
10. Alex Kirilloff Pittsburgh Pirates Alex was drafted 15th overall in the 2016 draft by the Minnesota Twins. After a huge 2018 season a wrist injury hampered his 2019 season. Playing the entire season in AA as a 21 year old, he batted 283 in 94 games. It is believed he can be an average corner OF but a move to 1B hasn't been ruled out. He joins Kristian Robinson and Tim Tebow as the top Of prospects in the Pirates system.
