BRHLO Award Voting 2019 Season
AL MVP ($25)
Christian Yelich CLE
Batting Title, 7.7 WAR, all in 120 games; oh and a WS run didn't hurt. Great season and the people agreed.
NL MVP ($25)
Giancarlo Stanton PHI
80 homeruns. Should I say more? Big Mike took this award in a landslide.
AL Cy Young ($25 split is $12.50 each)
Trevor Bauer LAA and Chris Sale KC (TIE)
20 Wins for Bauer led the AL, and Sale's K numbers were stellar. Mad Max may feel robbed here but the people have spoken.
NL Cy Young ($25)
Justin Verlander SD
JV made a run for MVP and took the CY in a landslide. NL voting didn't take much debate although Blaine Hardy did steal a vote along the way.
AL Rookie of the Year ($25)
Victor Robles BOS
Back to Back rookie of the year awards heading to BOS as Robles was the clear cut top rookie in the AL, although Caleb Ferguson did his best to make it a tough debate.
NL Rookie of the Year ($25)
Pablo Lopez SF
Wait, another NL poll was decided in a landslide? Lopez didn't even make this one close as he was the top rookie regardless of league.
GM of the Year ($25 each)
Mitchell King CLE (10 Votes)
Danny Raymond SD (8 Votes)
Eric S BAL (8 Votes)
Mitchell and Danny turned magical seasons into a WS run, and this marks consecutive years where our WS participants land this award. Eric did a great job with the mess he had inherited and I speak for all the AL East when I say, cut the shit... lol
Commish Award for league contributions ($25)
Mitchell King CLE
Mitchell took this league by storm both in the sim and out of it. His team writeups were a genuine treat and his willingness to recruit over several platforms didn't go unnoticed. Great year capped of with some well deserved recognition.
It was an underwhelming year in regards to the number of votes, as no poll saw more than 18 votes. We may attribute that to our turning over a few teams to new GMs but disappointed to see only half the league wanted to participate. We are only as strong as our weakest leak and with the amount Bryce and Eric do, we at the very least need to have leaguewide participation on these polls. DO BETTER NEXT YEAR, please.
